How did you meet and fall in love…

It was during the December of 2007 when Andries first laid eyes on me.  Not the romantic love at first sight, as he only knocked at my door to collect a parcel for my sister.  At that time, my sister was dating Andries’s eldest brother!!  Like I said, it was not instant sparks and butterflies, seeing he had the “tekkies & jeans” thing working for him.

It was only a year later that I realised Andries is the love of my life, all because of the first season of “Boer soek ‘n Vrou”, which I then happened to watch.  The cutest “Boer” of all the contestants was “Joachim”, he had the cutest boyish smile that immediately made me thought of Andries – and luckily for me, he was still available and from there everything just fell in place and I then had my own “Boer”!!

Andries proposed in January 2011 on the Melody en route to Walvis Bay after planning every detail and asking the blessing of my parents the week before, all without me knowing anything.  The motion of the ocean got the better of me on our first day which allowed a very nervous Andries to sneakily arrange a romantic setting for the evening after dinner.  Of course I wanted to go back to bed, but Andries insisted on a late night stroll and the next thing I saw was him on one knee and I immediately said yes!!!

On 31^st March 2012 I got to marry the love of my life, my best friend and my soul mate – a feeling I cannot explain.
