15 Apr Rebecca & Matthew, Temenos Retreat
This Jewish wedding was one for the books. Jam packed with so many interesting traditions that I had to be in three places at once to capture it in all its glory.
Rebecca and Matthew’s ceremony took place at Temenos Retreat, McGregor, in the midst of tons of amazing green foliage of the surrounding gardens. Under a beautiful chuppah they ceremonially shared wine – which is a Jewish symbol of joy (Amen to that) where after the groom enjoyed putting his foot down for the last time by smashing the glass. With that, the party was started, and do these guys know how to party!
More about the couple:
Rebecca and Matthew were very sneakily set up by the sales ladies from a chair store. Matthew was told that Rebecca had asked for his number, while she was told he left his number for her by himself.
Matthew popped the question while on a night time beach stroll, on a tropical beach, on an island in the south of Vietnam while they were traveling there. According to Rebecca; “It was so hot and he mumbled a lot of strange yet poetic words in the build-up. It was really joyful and lovely. Our parents were so happy.”
They decided to do a weekend long “destination” wedding in the charming little town of McGregor to spend as much time with their close friends and family as possible. The reception also took place outside with the Milky Way and trees filled with sparkly lights contributing to the wow-factor they created on the tables.
The unique décor (excluding floral arrangements) were done by themselves and their families – with a special mention to the bride’s sisters for all of their hard work.
Mazel tov you guys! Thank you for allowing me to capture this amazing day.
